Publisher Marketing: Baby sloths spend their first months holding on to a grown-up's fur. It's the slowest but safest ride in the rainforest, and it's how they learn what color the sky is and what a stinky bird smells like. Pogo can't hold on. His mama's fur is too short, and no matter what she tries, he keeps tumbling. So Mama knits him a patchwork blanket and climbs to the tallest tree to ask the elders for help. Then she carries Pogo to a treehouse by the sea, where a long-furred sloth is ready to care for him. Pogo's Patchwork Blanket is a story for children who live apart from their birth parents, and for the grown-ups who love them. It tells them what Pogo learns: it was nobody's fault, sometimes parents need a little extra help, and a child can be loved by more than one family at once.
